Lucia

Hi, I’m Lucia! I grew up in country New South Wales, about two hours south of Sydney, surrounded by dogs, cats, sheep, horses, and chickens — which is where my love of animals (and my dream of becoming a veterinarian) truly began. I graduated with distinction from the University of Melbourne in 2016 and moved back to the Southern Highlands to be closer to home. I began my career in small-animal general practice in Wollongong, and in 2019 I pursued my passion for surgery by completing an internship at North Shore Veterinary Specialist Hospital in Sydney. Since then, I’ve worked across general practice and emergency medicine in Sydney and Wollongong, spent two wonderful years practicing in Castlegar, B.C., and — after a short return to Australia — realized how much I missed Canada. I’m thrilled to be back and even more excited to call Calgary’s Kensington community home — both to live and to practice. I can’t wait to get to know the neighbourhood, the people, and of course, all the pets! Outside of the clinic, you’ll usually find me outdoors skiing, hiking, biking, or training for long-distance runs. I also love cooking, crafting, and spending time with my very fluffy (and very loved) cat, Oliver. I’m so grateful to be here and look forward to meeting you and your pets.
